Dr. SeungHwan Lee is currently a Professor of Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the Head of Clinical Trial Support Office & Quality Improvement Office of Clinical Trials Center at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH). He is interested in various topics related to early phase clinical trials for new drug development, PK-PD modeling & simulation, and individualized pharmacotherapy based on pharmacogenomics. In recent years, Dr. Lee has been participating in more than twenty clinical research projects annually as either principal investigator or co-investigator. These projects involve drugs (small molecules and biologics) and innovative therapeutics in a wide range of therapeutic areas, spanning over various kinds of study types such as first-in-human (FIH) studies, PK-PD studies, drug-drug interaction (DDI) studies, vaccine studies, clinical pharmacogenomic (PGx) studies, and PK-PD support in phase 2 or 3 trials. With such expertise, he gives consultations regarding clinical drug development to researchers, pharmaceutical companies, and other interested bodies. In addition, Dr. Lee is leading a global collaborative research project called INID-K (International Network for Infectious Disease Research & Development of Korea). Through this project, he tries to facilitate the global development of vaccines and treatments by educating and training foreign researchers in the field of clinical trials.

Research in our laboratory focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate hair growth and regeneration. We investigate the signaling pathways involved in the induction and maintenance of the anagen phase of the hair cycle and identify molecular regulators of hair loss and hair aging. We also develop quantitative platforms for evaluating hair growth and regeneration. Our research aims to advance the understanding of the physiological and pathological mechanisms of the skin and hair follicle and to identify novel therapeutic targets and strategies for hair regeneration.

At BiDEL, we develop next-generation electronic devices with a strong focus on semiconductor device technologies and soft electronics, pursuing an integrated, system-oriented approach that spans active and passive components, sensors, circuits, and complete system-level platforms. Building on this foundation, we extend our work toward bio-integrated wearable, implantable platforms, including microneedle systems, ultrathin conformable electronics, and active sensor arrays. These technologies are developed and tested for applications such as continuous biochemical monitoring and bioelectrical signal mapping, highlighting their translational potential in real-world clinical settings. BiDEL fosters deep expertise in device physics, circuit design, system integration, and experimental validation. We aim to translate these advances in semiconductor and device engineering into emerging biomedical and healthcare applications.
