A noble spirit of sharing — a precious gift for the next generation.
Unlike organ donation, brain donation is intended for research rather than transplantation. It helps brain researchers study brain diseases and find ways to treat them.
The path to a world free from the suffering of brain disease
begins with posthumous brain donation.
We sincerely welcome everyone who has visited the Dementia Brain Bank of Seoul National University Hospital.
The Dementia Brain Bank was established on July 9, 2015, when it was designated as the first regional brain bank of the Korea Brain Bank. With the consent of the donor or bereaved family, we receive brain donations, first carry out an accurate neuropathological diagnosis, properly store and manage brain tissue and other materials, and provide them through distribution to requesting researchers.
Unlike organ donation, brain donation is intended for research rather than transplantation. It helps brain researchers uncover the causes of brain diseases and find ways to treat them, and the new horizons of life that this opens for us are immeasurable. We ask for your continued interest and participation so that the brains of Koreans can be studied to support healthier lives for Koreans.
