Brief Summary
My research is grounded in liver surgery and liver transplantation, with a focus on improving surgical treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal liver metastasis, and biliary tract malignancies, as well as optimizing outcomes after liver transplantation. My major research interests include post-hepatectomy liver failure, small-for-size syndrome after living donor liver transplantation, graft dysfunction, liver regeneration, and portal flow modulation, areas in which I have extensive clinical research experience.
I also investigate optimal treatment selection for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal liver metastasis, including hepatic resection, locoregional therapy, down-staging strategies, and liver transplantation. In biliary tract malignancies, including intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, perihilar cholangiocarcinoma, and gallbladder cancer, my interests include surgical resectability, the extent of resection, vascular resection and reconstruction, and long-term oncologic outcomes.
Using multicenter clinical studies, registry-based analyses, biomarkers, clinical prediction models, and healthcare big data, my goal is to develop individualized surgical strategies and advance future approaches to liver transplantation, including marginal graft utilization and machine perfusion.
