Brief Summary
Professor Park's primary research interests include precision medicine for colorectal cancer, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and translational research. In particular, he conduct studies integrating diverse multi-omics data, including patient-derived organoids, the microbiome, cancer genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, to predict responses to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and total neoadjuvant therapy in rectal cancer. Through these efforts, he aims to identify predictive biomarkers of treatment response and develop personalized therapeutic strategies for individual patients.
He is also interested in developing prognostic models, postoperative complication prediction models, and clinical decision-support tools for patients with colorectal cancer by leveraging medical artificial intelligence, healthcare big data, and real-world data. Based on clinical trials and prospective cohort studies, his research seeks to generate clinically applicable evidence and integrate it with precision medicine and digital healthcare.
Ultimately, his research focuses on improving treatment outcomes for patients with colon and rectal cancer and establishing a personalized cancer care platform that integrates surgery, systemic therapy, molecular diagnostics, and artificial intelligence.
