Brief Summary
B-MIL develops next-generation biointerface technologies that integrate soft and fiber-based electronics, biomaterials, and artificial intelligence to precisely monitor, stimulate, and treat the nervous system and human tissues. Specifically, we aim to develop diagnostic biomarkers for neurological disorders, patient-specific neuromodulation strategies, and brain–computer interfaces based on minimally invasive neural electrodes, noninvasive brain and nerve stimulation, and AI-driven analysis of neural electrical and chemical signals.
We also seek to establish digital healthcare platforms for rehabilitation, postoperative recovery, and chronic disease management by using smart garments and skin- or tissue-attachable sensors for long-term monitoring of electrocardiography, electromyography, electroencephalography, and movement. Additional collaborative areas include surgical support devices, implantable therapeutic systems, and tissue regeneration technologies based on hydrogels, bioadhesives, drug-eluting sutures, and three-dimensional bioelectronic devices.
Furthermore, by integrating stem cells and organoids with bioelectronic interfaces, we aim to advance disease modeling, drug-response evaluation, and precision medicine. By incorporating unmet clinical needs from the earliest stages of research and linking validation across patients, animal models, and organoids, B-MIL seeks to translate engineering innovations into clinically meaningful diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.
