About Annex 3

The rodent (and primate) animal facility in Annex 3 is built on an advanced infection-control system and consists of a BSL-2 facility, a quarantine room, and Rat and Mouse animal rooms. All rodents are managed at the Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) level, and depending on research objectives, special infectious animals (BSL-2 class) and special quarantine animals are systematically introduced and operated.

In particular, the ISO Cage Unit within the BSL-2 facility and the Individually Ventilated Cage (IVC) system applied throughout all areas minimize cross-infection and place the highest priority on the safety of researchers and workers.

In addition, through regular environmental and microbiological monitoring, an optimal clean breeding environment is maintained, and professional research support services are provided to meet a wide range of experimental requirements.
