About the Clinical Laboratory
Clinical testing is performed to diagnose diseases and to evaluate the course of treatment, prognosis, and more, thereby contributing to research. Using animal specimens, the Clinical Laboratory of the Department of Experimental Animal Research performs complete blood count (CBC, DIFF, reticulocyte), clinical chemistry tests (measurement of serum, plasma, and urine components), coagulation tests (PT, aPTT), urinalysis (strip), and blood gas analysis, and provides the results promptly and accurately to support our researchers.
For specimens requested before 10:00 a.m. and received before 4:00 p.m., we operate on the principle of providing same-day test results.
In addition, to ensure reliable test results, we inspect the relevant equipment daily for each testing field and thoroughly apply calibration and QC for quality control. We also regularly participate in external quality assessment programs through equipment vendors to undergo evaluation.
