Analysis Service Request Procedure

For an analysis service request, the Pathology Laboratory staff perform the analysis according to the following procedure.

Specimen Preparation

  • Prepare the specimen in your own laboratory and visit the Pathology Laboratory
  • See below for request methods by specimen type

Submit the Pathology Laboratory Test Request Form

  • Clearly enter the project number and the principal investigator's contact information

Specimen Receipt and Analysis

  • Analysis proceeds after the specimen is received

Receipt of Analysis Results

  • Receive the analysis results

Fee Billing and Payment (following month)

  • The requester makes payment after receiving the invoice

Request Methods by Specimen Type

  • Requests accepted Monday to Thursday (excluding the day before a public holiday)
  • Tissue must be brought in before 1:00 PM
  • Use the cassettes provided at the reception desk in numerical order, one per tissue sample
  • Requests are possible after the block has been prepared
  • Store the block together with the slide box in the freezer located in Pre-processing Room 2
  • Bring a block or request with sectioned slides
  • Visit with the primary antibody and data sheet for the requested staining prepared
  • If you attach a paper describing the intended experiment, the appropriate method will be selected through discussion with the staff
  • Complete the consultation request form and send it to the Pathology Laboratory email
  • Requests are available every Thursday 9:00–10:00, in two 30-minute slots
  • Request forms are accepted until Tuesday morning each week

Consultation Service Request Procedure

For a consultation service request, the Pathology Laboratory staff receive the request and the supervising professor provides the consultation, according to the following procedure.

Complete the Request Form

  • Contact the Pathology Laboratory and reserve a date and time (T. 2072-1993)
  • Download the request form [Biomedical Research Institute website → Research Laboratory Team → Pathology Laboratory]
  • Complete the request form [refer to the sample form; fields in blue are required]

Submit the Request Form

  • Submit the request form to the emails below

Receipt and Reservation

  • The staff receives the request form and sends a confirmation email
  • The request form is forwarded to the supervising professor

Consultation

  • Visit the Pathology Laboratory at the reserved time with your slides or image files
  • ◐ Available times: every Thursday 09:00–10:00, in two 30-minute slots
  • ◐ Reception: until Tuesday morning each week
  • ※ All fields on the request form must be completed

Personal-Use Equipment Procedure

For personal-use equipment, the researcher operates the equipment directly, according to the following procedure.

Apply for Personal-Use Equipment Training

  • Complete the training application form after an in-person consultation

Complete Equipment Training

  • Held at 10:00 on the first Friday of each month

Reserve the Equipment (via the reservation system)

  • Only those who have completed the training may reserve
  • Use after reserving a time slot

Equipment Use

  • Use after approval by the equipment manager

Complete the Usage Log

  • Fill out the equipment usage log kept in the Pathology Laboratory

Fee Billing and Payment

  • The requester makes payment after receiving the invoice
